»Beyond Processing« is a series of workshops held with Steffen Fiedler at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. It‘s goal is to pass on knowledge about advanced tools for design through software which Steffen and I gained through recent projects. This should help students to increase their expertise for the realization of complex design projects beyond hardly working prototypes. Recent topics so far were the use of the Processing framework within the Eclipse Software Developement Environment and the principles of computational information design.The later was introduced in a recent workshop focused on visualizations of discussions in one year of email traffic from our university. This workshop also featured lectures by Christopher Warnow on visualization techniques using the Sunflow Renderer as well as a presentation by Christian Riekoff on his powerful CreativeComputing framework.

「ビヨンド・プロセシング」は、シュテフェン・フィードレァー氏とともにポツダム・応用科学大学で行った一連のワークショップです。このワークショップのねらいは、フィードレァー氏と私が最近のプロジェクトを通して学んだこと、つまり、ソフトウェアを使う設計デザインに欠かせない、最新のツールに関する知識を伝えることです。このワークショップを通し、学生には、低性能で使い勝手の悪いプロトタイプの制作を避け、より複雑で大きなデザインプロジェクトの認識と専門的な見解を深めてもらいたいと思っています。最近のトピックでは、Eclipseソフトフェア開発環境内のProcessing frameworkの用途と、コンピュータベースの情報デザイン論があります。後者については、本学の１年間のＥメールトラフィックについてのディスカッションをビジュアル化することに焦点をあて、最近のワークショップで紹介しました。このワークショップでは、クリストファー・ヴァルノウ氏のSunflow Rendererを用いたビジュアル化技術についての講演や、クリスチャン･リィコフ氏のクリエイティブ・コンピュータ・フレイムワークの発表がありました。教材はＷＥＢサイトBeyond Processing website（英語）でご覧いただけます。
